FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHEN AND WHERE?

The wedding will be held on June 14, 2025 in Portland, Oregon. Both the wedding ceremony and reception will be held at Castaway Portland. A more detailed itinerary will be posted after invitations are mailed.

INDOOR OR OUTDOOR WEDDING?

Both! Even if the weather doesn't cooperate, The Castaway is an indoor venue with a (mostly) covered outdoor patio space.

WEATHER IN PORTLAND IN JUNE?

We’ve run the numbers (literally, Zack's dad Dave Malitz analyzed precipitation and temperature data) and the answer is almost anything is possible. There’s an equal chance it could be hot and sunny, beautiful and mild, or chilly, wet, and gray. Our best advice is to watch the weather apps and prepare for anything! Expect 80 degrees, 50 degrees, or anything in between.

If there is bad weather, don’t fret. The event can be hosted fully indoors.

LODGING OPTIONS?

There are many hotel, motel, and Airbnb options.

  • The majority of the hotel options near the venue are in downtown. An eclectic mix of historic and modern hotels are located in the creatively named Portland Downtown District. Just north, the district called The Pearl is a fun place to stay and explore.

  • There are hotels across the river, Jupiter and Jupiter Next, which are in a great part of town that is connected to everywhere.

  • For a unique hotel experience, check out the different McMenamins historic hotels.

DRESS CODE?

The dress code for the ceremony and reception is Cocktail.

We will be dressing up and would love for everyone to to do the same for this fancy party we are throwing. Be it floor or knee length, colorful or neutral, we invite you to wear what makes you feel dressed up, fancy, and fun.

That said, don’t stress too much. If you don’t wear white or shorts, you’ll do great.

RSVP?

RSVPs are now open on on the aptly named RSVP page at

lacyzackwed.com/RSVP

CHILDREN?

Children are invited too! We do not want lack of child care to be the reason you can't celebrate with us. So we have no expectation that this should be a child free wedding. Just make sure to let us know in the RSVP how many children will be attending with you so we can plan accordingly.

PLUS ONES?

Guests will be allowed a plus one. Children do not count towards a plus one.

WHAT'S WITH THE DOG?

That’s Leela, our beloved chihuahua-terrier mix. She’s old, cranky and not great around kids. She won’t be attending the wedding, but she’ll be there in our hearts.

WAIT IS THERE ANOTHER DOG?

You heard right! We now have Fred in our lives, a large and rambunctious puppy. He's wonderful but energetic and prone to shredding. He also will not be attending the wedding.
